I couldn’t say it better myself.

While I was reading my morning news site I came across a blog that talked about gas prices. Now I’ve complained about the prices for years now and as I got older it started to really sink in that it’s never going to get better. So for the last couple years, every summer I get the same e-mail’s about a gas boycott on this day or for this week at this place. I say the same thing every time, “Bullshit, It will never work” Now let’s think about this for a minute. My intrepid takes about 80 bucks to fill with my local $1.20 Gas station price. Now let’s just say that my self and a hundred other drivers’ do a boycott and the same station. Just so I have a number to play with I’ll say that the average fill cost is $60. If a hundred of us don’t buy gas on Friday, the station doesn’t make $6000 that day. But come the weekend you’ll need to get gas right. So they make there $6000 dollars back over Saturday, Sunday and Monday when you need gas right. So if you don’t for a week they lose even more but in the end, (and trust me every gas station / company is well aware of this is) you need gas if you want to use your car, Period. There’s no way around it and the people that have anything to do with making any type of money from it, know.

The blog I started to talk about I found on canoe.ca this morning and it was on the main page, Check it out if you want (Where do we go from here?). The writer starts with “I have some sobering news for anyone who thinks gas prices are going down anytime soon: they’re not.” He continues with “I hate to break it to these people, but short of pretty much every driver selling his or her car and never driving again, gas prices will not be going down anytime soon. And believe me, the sooner you accept this, the sooner you’ll be adding years to your life, and the quicker you’ll be able to focus on actually becoming more fuel efficient.” And like the title says I couldn’t say this better myself.

The reality to it all is the same as food that’s good for you. Once we have a vehicle that doesn’t use gas, only the rich will be able to afford them. It really is sad but that’s the way it is. We have had electric cars before. They sold very well and groups of people had a hard time giving them back when they took them away. But now I’m seeing ads from the same company that took them all away talking about be the company that has cars from fuel efficiency to fuel free is nice to see that they are thinking about doing something. But Thinking isn’t good enough anymore! Someone needs to do something now, Before it’s $2.00 a litre.
